Dog Boarding Facilities in West Virginia

I wanted to like this place because it had been highly recommended but my dog was traumatized by this place. Took him for his 5 hour evaluation, they didn't request shot records, some of the dogs with my dog were twice his size, watched the live feed that was just a step above a flip book, no one interacted with the dogs, there did not appear to be any toys for them to play with or on and no apparent shade. The dogs were in a fenced concrete prison yard. When the woman walked through, cleaning I guess, the dogs followed her craving attention, getting none. It was heartbreaking. My dog was despondent when I picked him up and for several days after. He was exhausted but not because he was happy but from having been on alert all day and nervous. When he plays at the dog park he is happily exhausted. I would never recommend this place nor would I trust them to care for my dog. Can't understand why anyone would. view short comment

Wonderful place! Couldn't ask for anything more. Left my Boxer there for a week and she loved it! So happy when I picked her up. Staff is super nice. I recommend House of Hounds to anyone.

I boarded my dog Lola at least a dozen times in 2010 and am always very pleased when I pick her up. She's happy and healthy and clean and I can tell the staff loves her. Plus, the doggie cam allows me to check up on her while I'm away...great for peace of mind. Her vet was even pleased to hear that I take her there.
