Dog Boarding Facilities in New York

If you love your animals...stay away from this kennel. Our experience with this kennel was a complete nightmare from day one. We reserved a double kennel with a run, as we have two big dogs. When we arrived there was no double available. We were told that other dogs would be leaving that day, and that our dogs would be moved into a double kennel with a run. A week later we showed up early to pick-up our dogs and found them in the same single kennel we had left them in. The kennel was filthy, as were our animals. There was pee everywhere, which is distressing because our dogs do not pee inside...making me wonder how long our poor dogs had been locked inside that horrible cage!!!!!!!! The owner made some lame excuse, then, when we protested, got verbally abusive. What a nightmare. I cannot stand to think of what our poor dogs went through while boarded at that horrible place. I wish I had called some authority and filed a compliant. To tell you the truth I think I was just happy our dogs were alive and I wanted to put the whole incident behind us. She should not have a license to care for animals, she is not capable, whatever the reasons. view short comment

They were HORRIBLE!!!! They were hard to makr arrangements, even during their scheduled hours, to pick my dogs up. It took us an extra 2 days for them to say "ok" on us comming to get our dogs, and did so only with the threat of law enforcement intervention. They were HORRIBLE!!!! They were hard to makr arrangements, even during their scheduled hours, to pick my dogs up. It took us an extra 2 days for them to say "ok" on us comming to get our dogs, and did so only with the threat of law enforcement intervention. They have a set rate, even if you provide your own food for the dog, which we did. We dont believe the dogs were fed or watered properly as they show no signs of bowel trouble (which they easily have if fed a different food) but yet they were sent home with over half of the food we sent them, and if fed properly, they should not have had food left for this last day they were made to stay there. When we got home, they drank more in one sitting than they drink most days, and were so thirsty they couldnt wait until we got into the house and tried to drink from the puddles on the sidewalk. They also ate like they hadnt been fed in a while. While they were boarded there, the kennel was also hired to give each one a bath on the morning of the day we were to pick them up. No baths were given, but we were charged for them. Their excuse was the dogs tried to bite them. This is a ludicris accusation, because the other boarding kennel we use (we would have used them this time also but the kennel was closed the owners were on vacation) bathes them the same way. The dogs have never been biters, have never attempted to be biters, they never even growl, and in fact, LOVE water. They dont care if it's in a tub or from the hose, or if it's warm or cold, they LOVE it. We were charged for every day the dog was there, eventhough we were not allowed to pick the dogs up. Our dogs, now home, wont even go outside or in the car they're so afraid of leaving home. These are social dogs who love to go in the car and outside, and they now have to be forced to go outside. I am NEVER going to leave my dogs in the care of these people again, and i dont suggest that anyone else does either. view short comment
