Dog Boarding Facilities in Pennsylvania

This place is terrible and we will never go back. We took our diabetic dog there last weekend for 4 days. We gave them explicit instructions to call us if they had any problems. We dropped her off Thursday night and called to check on her Sunday because they hadn’t called us to report any problems. So when we called them, they told us she would not eat for them but they were able to feed her 2 hours late. When we picked her up she seemed alright but she wouldn’t eat for us which tells me her blood sugar was off. We both had to take off work so we can work with her to get her back on track. She is still having issues. I called them to find out why she is acting so sick. The owner woman said she fed our dog herself, personally. She complained on and on at me that our dog is “a nightmare” because she is a nervous eater who was hard to feed. Our dog was fine before we took her there. The other kennel that we took her too did not have this problem. She came back better than normal and happy. They said she was a nervous eater but were able to do the job we paid them for. Golden wood, however, was not!! They don’t have any added services (that’s what I was told in person when I asked if I could pay extra to have her walked) Plus Golden wood only lets the dogs out 2 times a day for only 15 minutes at a time. I wish we never had gone there because our dog is still sick!!! If you have a dog that has no special needs and is content to do nothing all day while you are on vacation you may be fine taking your dog here (maybe). view short comment
