Dog Boarding Facilities in Colorado

Excellent facility, state inspected and licensed, have used for years. Very clean, low stress, dogs well cared for. Does not mix dogs as this is violation of state regs. Dogs fed premium food, no extra charge for outside time or medication admin. Highly recommend.

Took my 9 year old GSD for boarding to Colorado K-9 acres after looking it up online and talking to the woman that owns/operates. I was told by her that my dog would be socialized with other dogs everyday it seemed warm and friendly. After returning from my 2 week trip I learned that my dog was not socialized at all! Reasons? I was told by her that my dog would be socialized with other dogs everyday it seemed warm and friendly. After returning from my 2 week trip I learned that my dog was not socialized at all! Reasons? Because 'they chose not to' they told us they just put it in the dirt patch out back once a day alone. I don't even believe that! My dog was filthy and it's fur was molting from stress and was obviously traumatized by the experience there. I have never seen my dog so excited to see people before as if it had been locked up alone the entire time. It took a week before my dog finally calmed down. I have no idea what they did or didn't do which is frightening. My dog was obviously neglected by this woman who claims to 'know' GSDs. I would never go back and i would caution anyone considering it. view short comment
